The "Brownsville Incident" refers to a video of Joshua Block loudly and angrily yelling the n-word outside West Fourth Street–Washington Square station in Manhattan on March 21, 2024. The video was taken down from TikTok, then posted on r/WorldOfTShirts, becoming the most upvoted post on the subreddit of all time.

Joshua as seen during the incident

Prior Events

On that day, Josh was on his phone arguing with a person on his phone, during which Josh mentioned beating the person up and then waiting for the police to arrive. He then stimmed about going to Italy. Afterwards, Josh proceeded to argue with a man, who told Josh to shut up.[1] At one point, according to Josh, the man allegedly proceeded to "pour beer in my fave[sic]".[2] Regardless of what happened next, Josh then went into a meltdown

Video

At least two videos were recorded. The first can be seen on https://old.reddit.com/r/WorldOfTShirts/comments/1bkmwhw/i_know_this_has_been_posted_already_but_why_i_ask/ , where a man snickers while Josh says the n-word.

The second more infamous video can be seen on https://old.reddit.com/r/WorldOfTShirts/comments/1bl0jb0/josh_n_word_in_nyc/ , where Josh calls someone the n-word and threatens to beat them up. A homeless man, possibly the same person Josh argued with earlier, tells him to shut up.

Aftermath

Shortly after the incident, Josh then approached two people on the street and begged them for money, which they refused to give, causing Josh to cuss them out. Josh then proceeded to scream about how he hated America.[3]
